The Fox Theater Oakland is a historic theater located in Oakland, CA. Built in 1928, the Fox is known for it’s ornate design and stunning architecture. The theater features a large stage, seating for up to 2,800 people, and is known for its excellent acoustics. The theater's design is a blend of the Moorish Revival and Mediterranean Revival architectural styles and it's considered a great example of the "atmospheric" theater style, where the audience feels like they are sitting in an open-air courtyard. The theater was closed for 40 years prior to being restored and reopened in 2009. It has since become a popular venue for live music, theater performances, comedy shows, and other events.
